Ok, so we all know that the last redesign of the website failed for |

various reasons. Yet I still think that it is a good way of getting |

community feedback and involvement. Therefore what if we were to have a |

redesign based around the style (and not the content) of gentoo's websites. |

Therefore and entry would consist of x css (however many we currently |
| 7 |
have) files. |

Our html would be fixed, tho I do admit that we may have to make some |
| 9 |
changes to enable contributors to customise images, etc (Hopefully they |
| 10 |
would be minor). Any changes we make would be to generalise our html to |
| 11 |
enable contributor contributions. contributors could not ask for |
| 12 |
"special features" specific to their theme. |

What we could then do is implement a theming engine so users could pick |
| 15 |
the theme they wish. and/or |
| 16 |
have a winning entry set as the default theme ( or just The Theme ) for |
| 17 |
a period of time. after which we could switch back or not. |

Anyway, what do ppl think of this from a 10,000 foot view. |

ps. I have not sized this. therefore it might be easy, or it might be |

impossible. Also there are lots of other ideas that we could throw around. |
