Ok, so we all know that the last redesign of the website failed for
various reasons. Yet I still think that it is a good way of getting
community feedback and involvement. Therefore what if we were to have a
redesign based around the style (and not the content) of gentoo's websites.

Therefore and entry would consist of x css (however many we currently
have) files.
Our html would be fixed, tho I do admit that we may have to make some
changes to enable contributors to customise images, etc (Hopefully they
would be minor). Any changes we make would be to generalise our html to
enable contributor contributions. contributors could not ask for
"special features" specific to their theme.

What we could then do is implement a theming engine so users could pick
the theme they wish. and/or
have a winning entry set as the default theme ( or just The Theme ) for
a period of time. after which we could switch back or not.

Anyway, what do ppl think of this from a 10,000 foot view.

Alistair.

ps. I have not sized this. therefore it might be easy, or it might be
impossible. Also there are lots of other ideas that we could throw around.
