Hi |
2 |
|
3 |
I've been discussing with some devrel members in the past about gentoo/user |
4 |
and gentoo/contributor cloaks. I though (and it was not only me) that |
5 |
gentoo/contributor cloaks are given to ATs and HTs only, so I wanted to give |
6 |
gentoo/user cloaks to some people that do various stuff apart from writing code |
7 |
(stuff like representing gentoo in conferences, give support to others in |
8 |
gentoo localized IRC channels, translate, promote the distro, etc). I've been |
9 |
told though that devrel doesn't provide gentoo/user cloaks any more, and what |
10 |
could be done is to give gentoo/contributor cloaks to someone if a developer |
11 |
can vouch for him. There is no official policy though, Jorge would start a |
12 |
discussion but never did, so I'm sending this mail with his approval, to start |
13 |
a discussion and finally set a policy. |
14 |
My opinion is that gentoo/contributor cloaks are very important to be given to |
15 |
users. Especially amongst greek community many people like the idea of getting |
16 |
a gentoo cloak. But devrel has to keep a list of those people (plus the |
17 |
developer who vouched for them), possibly somewhere under the projspace (I |
18 |
believe it could be public, yes). |
19 |
I hope we have a final decision soon, as I don't think it is an easy to solve |
20 |
task. |
