I really like the idea of Gentoopix. We are not far at all from having a |
21 |
X LiveCD. I could surely see this as something for 2004.3 (or .4 |
22 |
depending on circumstances). Could we use a different name though |
23 |
please? ;) |

How does gentoopix obviate GRP? One of the installation cases that we |
26 |
have to keep in mind is networkless installs. If the LiveCD had the |
27 |
functionality of building installation packages from the packages |
28 |
present on the LiveCD (as proposed by pvdabeel), then we could fulfill |
29 |
that case. Even then, I am not sure if it is flexible enough for our |
30 |
needs - would we need x86 and i686 gentoopix LiveCDs then? Would we just |
31 |
need to provide distfiles? What about slower machines? |
32 |
|
33 |
This is definitely an area to explore, as it would be nice to have a |
34 |
unified LiveCD that was GRP and a X environment rolled into one as it |
35 |
would save a *ton* of resoures, but there are a lot of angles that need |
36 |
to be addressed. |
37 |

Cheers, |
