Great.  I prefer to use the portage release version anyway, since it has
shorter path names on my machine.  Yes, I'm lazy, but it also makes for
disseminating .spec files easier if the files are in a standard
location.

Nope, the X part is easy.  The hard part is OpenGL support, but Livewire
gave me the heads up on that (steal code from the old LiveCD stuff in
cvs), so that's a no-brainer now.

What would be entailed?  Maintaining those packages listed in the
meeting?  What else would need to be done?  Anyone willing to help?  If
it is just working with those packages (stabilizing, etc) then I'll
volunteer until we can find someone who wants to do it permanently.
