There is a difference between providing the tools to allow for fast |
7 |
installs (emerge -k and the like) and providing the binaries to allow for |
8 |
fast installs. The gentoo server project is all about the former and has |
9 |
no interest in supporting the latter. |

For reasons why, please see: |

Having a usable machine, fast, is the entire purpose of GRP. That same |
19 |
functionality is also provided by Gentoopix. |

Gentoopix comes with far less ongoing headaches and resource requirements |
22 |
than GRP does and it also allows us to realize the full benefits of Gentoo |
23 |
for our user base. They can still install things optimized for their arch, |
24 |
tailored to their needs. They can still have complete control over how |
25 |
their system is set up. They can still do all the things that GRP doesn't |
26 |
allow them to do and still have a usable machine at the same time. |
