I just uploaded the beta x86 LiveCD for 2004.2. It, along with the |

specs, kernel configs, and portage snap used to build it can be found at |

<http://dev.gentoo.org/~zhen/2004.2/. I have opened a "tracking" bug on |

bugs.g.o for this. Please post all patches, bugs, comments, etc to that |

bug so that we can more easily track our progress. Just so we have a |
| 7 |
central authority, I will build the LiveCDs as needed for this testing |
| 8 |
phase (works well because I can test catalyst enhancements too). The |
| 9 |

If you are testing (which everyone should be doing ;) ), please make |

sure to test the following as much as possible. These are the areas that |

we have highlighted for improvement: |

Once we get at least one test revision under our belt, I will post the |

above to -dev so that we can get an even larger test group. Keep your |

eyes out for the final 2004.2 schedule, which I will post this week. |

Keep in mind that most of it will be spent in test cycles like this one |
| 26 |
(which is a good thing :) ). |
