Hi,

livecd-tools is not on the ppc livecds, even though it was marked
stable on ppc by somebody. I looked at the entire package and the only
thing useable was the net-select script. The other parts (98% of the
ebuild) depended on x86 knoppix hwdata etc (missing RDEPEND btw), so
they would not work on a ppc machine. The net-select script alone was
not a good enough reason for me to include it. Especially not because
90% of all PowerPC machines are airport (wireless) enabled laptops. The
script was too primitive and couldn't set up wep etc. Didn't have
enough time to start rewriting this.

Can we create a net-select ebuild for 2004.1? I don't want to put x86
hardware detection programs on the ppc livecd. Thanks for your
understanding, sorry for not bringing this up earlier. I hadn't though
ppc users would execute net-select because it is described in the
handbook.
