Basically sparc64 is rather picky when it comes to building kernels and
using initrds. There is a very small set of space to work with (3.5MB
max for the kernel, and 5MB total for combined kernel + initrd size), in
addition to having a different kernel compiler than userland compiler.
Plus even if you wanted to, you couldn't use modules inside of the initrd
due to size constraints of the kernel and initrd and the fact that
dietlibc won't build.
