The 2.6.1-kernel boots up fine, but with the 2.4.24 kernel INIT |

complains about "No inittab found". I tried different configurations for |

that kernel (iggy's original one, a config from a knoppix-like |

gentoo-live-cd (ask dertobi123) and different flavours of mine), stepped |
| 8 |
back to baselayout-1.8.6.12-r4 and genkernel-3.0.1-beta10, also stepped |
| 9 |
back from xfs-sources-2.4.24-r1 to -r0 and also cdfs instead of zisofs |

At the moment, I am rebuilding the livecd on my box here, since I |

already had the thought, that this may be related to amd64. This might |
| 14 |
take some time (and I really doubt that this will be the solution to |
| 15 |
that problem). |

I will report the results of that final test as soon as they appear to |

me. However I cannot guarantee that I am going to be able to keep the |

23rd as release date. |
