5 |
nope, no default config yet. They should be able to copy the |
6 |
x86 config directory, and make some small changes, like |
7 |
copying over the proper kernel config, and making sure they |
8 |
use the right command in the config.sh to build the kernel. |

13 |
well, once the combined source is committed, we can use some |
14 |
testing, but I think it's mostly under control except for |
15 |
that ;) |

26 |
|
27 |
nope. Actually, it has to do more with other arches that care how |
28 |
large the initrd is. For x86 it really doesn't do much more than |
29 |
save some space and memory. But sparc's initrd can't be more than |
30 |
1.5MB compressed if they have a max 3.5MB kernel, so that's the |
31 |
main reason for the attempt at size shrinkage. |

36 |
|
37 |
not a bad idea... I may actually commit a genkernel-3.0.ebuild with |
38 |
the arches set to -* and whoever wants to test can just emerge |
39 |
that ebuild, since it will end up in there eventually anyhow. Then |
40 |
submit that to -dev. |
41 |
Thoughts on that approach? |

I've become fairly intimate with the livecd scripts out of |
46 |
need (on amd64), so I may be of some assistance there if need-be |
47 |
as well. |
