I plan to give some attention to the verification problem this
weekend.  It seems like that is considered a concern for moving
forward and that there have been problems with the past conversion
attempts.  I figured I wouldn't look at the conversion process itself
until verification was worked out.  I will just work off the stale
past migration attempts for now (if they have known errors that is all
the better).  At some point if we get a good verification system then
having access to matching pairs of cvs/git repos will obviously be
important.  I plan to publish whatever I come up with in any case.
I'll also take a look at some of the existing tools that were posted
on the list - if the consensus is that they're good enough then beyond
testing them out and scripting/etc it is problem solved.
