[gentoo-scm] repoman patch for git support (from drobbins)

Hello list,

I happened to be in #gentoo-portage and found drobbins hacking on
repoman. I asked for permission to post this and he agreed. I am
merely the messenger and hosting the patch. I *think* he has sent this
to zmedico already. Anyway, hack on..
