GMANE provides an alternative service for most mailing lists. c.f. bug 424647
Today, with solar's help, I updated the repo
<http://git.overlays.gentoo.org/gitweb/?p=exp/gentoo-x86.git;a=summary>
to a conversion from a couple of days ago. The git.overlays server ran
out of disk space while I was pushing, so it required some backend
fiddling to replace the old repo with the new one. That's where solar
came in.
We've got 100 MB packs now. Hopefully that works reasonably for most
people. I think connections are dropped after 30 minutes, which means
you need to download around 50 K/s to get a full pack before you get
killed. The total repo size is 1.6 GB, as you'd expect based on the 100
MB pack size from
<http://archives.gentoo.org/gentoo-scm/pngIyk1yD5oIS.png>.
If you've got an old repo, you'll need to force an update:
git pull origin +master:master
