  the upside for us to using Samsung is as boring as a three year
  warranty.  then again, it doesn't _really_ matter much, since the
  price of a modern hard drive is less then the cost of actually
  reinstalling a box.  it's almost scary, when a drive dies in a
  workstation at work it costs my employer more to have me bring the
  box up again then the cost of the drive.

  it would be nice to have drives that didn't die, but we all know
  that isn't going to happen.  :-)

  40GB?  might I inquire what you use such a small drive for?  *cough*
