Hopefully its a little fuzzier than that... i.e. you might be able to |

get away with a vanilla kernel from kernel.org of the apropriate rev, |

and try out some util-linux packages around the point where you think |

you might have been. The version of util-linux is the more important of |
25 |
the two I believe, since at some point the "-k" option was dropped from |
26 |
the base util-linux and also the hashing of the password was dropped and |
27 |
replaced by hashalot in the ebuilds. So the first thing you might want |
28 |
to try is your current setup (the one that complains about mount type) |

with and without hashing. |
