1 I am probably going to catch a lot of crap for this but here goes... qmail
2 was not designed to do authenticated smtp. That being said, you need to
3 patch qmail with either TLS patches or if you are using vpopmail you will
4 need to patch accordingly and use the vcheckpasswd (if I remember correctly)
5 in the run script for qmail-smtpd.

7 I don't know what all is possible in the gentoo USE flags to support this.
8 I used qmail for years and finally switch to postfix and that has made all
9 the difference.
