Another springs to mind, although I don't know whether you would |

consider it to be easier. You could prepare an installation (up to |
10 |
stage3) on another computer then either: |

a) Remove the hard disk and temporarily plug it into the destination |

server. Boot from it, then copy the contents to the destination |
14 |
disks/filesystems. Of course, you can prepare your |
15 |
volumes/filesystems/RAID schema as you wish prior to the copy, if you |

have installed the necessary tools prior. |

b) Assuming that the target server only has one hard disk, use that hard |

disk in the other computer during the install phase. Then simply move |
20 |
the hard disk back to the target server afterwards. |

Of course, there are other considerations (e.g. if you use -march, do |

both computers support it, making sure you don't screw up the kernel |

etc). Nonetheless, I thought it was worthy of mention. |
