Hello gentoo,

I wanted to publicly express my interest in participated at GSOC 2020
with gentoo, specifically working on porting RElibc to gentoo[1]. I
already exchanged couple of emails with Luca.

Let me introduce myself, I am fresh graduate and will start my first
masters semester next month. My background is in systems software, and
I a mainly do C/C++, Rust and assembly (side by side with bunch of
other scripting languages).

And this is my second time doing google summer of code, First time was
in 2016 with radareOrg working on implementing argument detection pass
(part of reverse engineering process).

As for my relationship with Gentoo, I am a Gentoo user, I have been
using it for ~2 years now. I tried OS I could get my hands on (ubuntu,
debians, fedora, slackware and arch, buildroot/LFS) and the reason I
liked gentoo more, is that it is rolling release and stable and not
single person driven, and comes with package manager (yeah build
root/LFS doesn't).

The reason is that I am so excited about this project is that I am
also Rust advocate, I am even working on side project of porting my
whole project I worked on in gsoc to rust (long term side project of
myself).

Anyways ,although I have been gentoo user for a while I don't have
much experience with ebuilds (1 day experience), hence my starting
early to at least have working experience with package maintenance. At
the time being, I am trying to get to contact RElibc maintainers based
on advice from Luca and working on learning how to create overlays by
create (local then will be moved to github) overlay for relibc.

Thanks.
Ahmed.
