I'm pretty sure every org gets two slots for this; but I am not
positive and there is no FAQ for the 2008 summit (just 2006..that I
can find).
The summer involves workshops and talks geared to get feedback about
Summer of Code; establish guidelines for upcoming years and meet
and greet other participants.

I have one very excited person who wants to go; are there any other takers?

Google tends to fund portions of the travel expenses and I hear this
year the summit is two days instead of one; however more information
will be coming later this week.
