Hi all, |
5 |
|
6 |
I've tried this with both the 2005.1 profile CD and the 2006.0 profile |
7 |
CD. Both get a kernel panic at the hardware detection process. The |
8 |
2005.1 CD seems to search for hardware, and then panic at what seems |
9 |
to be near the end. The 2006.0 CD seems to panic almost immediately |
10 |
after starting the hardware detection process (no little green bar). |
11 |
The error I get for *both* CDs is as follows: |
12 |
|
13 |
"Kernel panic: Attempted to kill the idle task! |
14 |
In idle task - not syncing" |
15 |
|
16 |
Then it just hangs. The system is rather antiquated, and I would |
17 |
think these sort of problems would have been worked out. Hardware |

I've loaded gentoo on similar U1's without problems. So why can't I |
25 |
boot this one to the CD? I would love to get gentoo on this box for a |
26 |
personal project. Any ideas? |
27 |
|
28 |
If you need any further info, feel free to ask. I currently have |
29 |
Solaris 9 on the box and can use whatever utilities are part of that |
30 |
OS to gather info. |

|

TIA |
