GMANE provides an alternative service for most mailing lists. c.f. bug 424647
List Archive: gentoo-sparc
For another comparison here's my U1 (140HMz/SCSI) vs. my U5 (270MHz/IDE)
(and the U1 is my server, running many services, the U5 has no real
purpose here except to consume power and test gentoo things so is
typically idle)
ultra1 # time sloccount /usr/src/linux-2.6.7
real 15m49.943s
user 9m22.458s
sys 3m12.959s
ultra5 # time sloccount /usr/src/linux-2.6.7
real 12m35.811s
user 6m48.468s
sys 3m4.309s
this is also why I want a dual U2 :)
