Hi All, |
2 |
|
3 |
I installed gentoo on a SUN V210 using the 38MB LiveCD. |
4 |
I did the setup exactly by |
5 |
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-sparc-quickinstall.xml |
6 |
|
7 |
I installed the 2.4.31-sparc kernel image which was obtained from the |
8 |
livecd and silo installed fine too but at reboot i get the |
9 |
|
10 |
Remapping the kernel... Done. |
11 |
|
12 |
message and it freezes.... I made several kernel images but the same |
13 |
situation unfortunatelly. |
14 |
|
15 |
If I tell the livecd to boot with root=/dev/sda1 video=atyfb:off then the |
16 |
system is booting fine and it's perfect.... but I would like to make my |
17 |
own kernel running on that box. |
18 |
|
19 |
I tried to put the initrd images and some other "append" things to |
20 |
silo.conf as on the livecd but nothing's changed. |
21 |
|
22 |
I checked /etc/inittab and /etc/runlevels but they're all seem to be fine |
23 |
and if I boot from the LiveCD then it goes very well.... |
24 |
As I noticed, I don't get the Booting Linux. message. It freezes before |
25 |
it's displayed. Maybe this help... |
26 |
|
27 |
How can I get this problem done? Have you experienced such like that? |
28 |
|
29 |
As workaround, how can i make my own sparc livecd with my own kernel? |
30 |
|
31 |
Thank you, |
32 |
Peter |
