Trustees, |
2 |
I feel that it is my obligation to make you all aware of what I believe |
3 |
is a situation between Kurt and I that is inhibiting the forward |
4 |
progress of the releng team. Kurt has contacted the team on our mailing |
5 |
list (as well as me personally) during the past two weeks or so |
6 |
regarding his strong disapproval of what releng is doing, with specific |
7 |
regard to the release schedule. He has been very vehement in his |
8 |
position that in taking it upon himself to disrupt the current setup of |
9 |
releng and force me to change the release schedule, no matter the very |
10 |
postive progress releng is currently making or the negative impact that |
11 |
such a change would incur. |
12 |
|
13 |
Releng is doing a very good job, especially when considering the time |
14 |
frame. In a relatively short amount of time, my team has worked very |
15 |
hard to get Gentoo up to speed on releases. My team and I have worked |
16 |
through some very tough situations and have always accomodated devs and |
17 |
Architecture Coordinators alike when needed (which is a lot). |
18 |
|
19 |
Kurt, for releng to continue to be successful, you need to let me do my |
20 |
job. Part of being a trustee is trusting your colleagues in their |
21 |
position, and your incessant, disruptive, and negative activity in the |
22 |
releng project does not show you to be the team player that you can be. |
23 |
I know that you have concerns, but please step back and be the "gentle |
24 |
hand" that we have all pledged to be. |
25 |
|
26 |
Regards, |
27 |
//John |
