List Archive: gentoo-trustees
Trustees,
I feel that it is my obligation to make you all aware of what I believe
is a situation between Kurt and I that is inhibiting the forward
progress of the releng team. Kurt has contacted the team on our mailing
list (as well as me personally) during the past two weeks or so
regarding his strong disapproval of what releng is doing, with specific
regard to the release schedule. He has been very vehement in his
position that in taking it upon himself to disrupt the current setup of
releng and force me to change the release schedule, no matter the very
postive progress releng is currently making or the negative impact that
such a change would incur.
Releng is doing a very good job, especially when considering the time
frame. In a relatively short amount of time, my team has worked very
hard to get Gentoo up to speed on releases. My team and I have worked
through some very tough situations and have always accomodated devs and
Architecture Coordinators alike when needed (which is a lot).
Kurt, for releng to continue to be successful, you need to let me do my
job. Part of being a trustee is trusting your colleagues in their
position, and your incessant, disruptive, and negative activity in the
releng project does not show you to be the team player that you can be.
I know that you have concerns, but please step back and be the "gentle
hand" that we have all pledged to be.
Regards,
//John
