Along this, we might want to think about a certain guideline regarding
stores that sell Gentoo stuff "officially". As far as I understand,
store.g.o is and will remain a separate entity. Since other stores exist
elsewhere as well, we will undoubtedly be asked permission to sell Gentoo
stuff (use of the Gentoo name and logo on commercial products).

The current guideline we've drafted currently only allows usage for
non-commercial purposes. Do we want to put a guideline on commercial selling
as well (for instance, x percent of the profit should be sent to the Gentoo
Foundation) or do we want to stick with a case-by-case basis?

Even if we choose the latter, it is in our best interest to keep a guideline
for starters.

Another guideline pertains more directly with Daniel's request, namely the
announcement of Gentoo(-related) products through Gentoo's official channels
(homepage, GWN, ...). Do we allow this in general and if we do, how
frequent? How should the store (regardless of being store.g.o or any other
store) operate?

Imho, we can allow this if:
  - the announcements aren't too frequent (for instance, at most one every
    month)
  - the store sends x percent of it's revenues to the Gentoo Foundation
  - there is a good track record for this stream of revenues

I believe such information must be available and the x-percentage revenue is
known to the users as well (preferably in the announcement itself).

Hoping for a productive discussion,

      Sven Vermeulen

PS Daniel, I hope I'm not hurting your feelings on this in any way; if I am,
I would be glad to hear more from you - after all, discussing things is
   the best way of action.
