The only hesitation I have is that people are going to go to the source |
23 |
with their problems. I am guilty of this (I bought a computer desk with |
24 |
a big note in it "if there are missing parts, call us, do not take it |
25 |
back to the store".. what did I do when the desk was messed up? took |
26 |
it back to the store) |
27 |
|
28 |
Sadly, this wouldn't be in my mind if we didn't already have a couple of |
29 |
issues with Gentoo developers taking battle with the Pegasos boxes that |
30 |
got donated to us. Daniel, you've been out of the loop on this, but we |
31 |
were given boxes for FREE and have had developers bitching about them |
32 |
(it's inconsiderate and ungrateful, I know, that's a different story). |
33 |
My point is that things like that will only be magnified when people pay |
34 |
for the equipment, and no matter how much you tell them where to go for |
35 |
help, their complaints are going to go where their dollar went. |
36 |
|
37 |
Principally, there is nothing -wrong- with it, but as soon as we sell |
38 |
something from the store we (Gentoo) had better be ready to support it. |
39 |
Issues will be brought up in mailing lists, forums, and IRC. I would |
40 |
have no hesitations if Gensi were to provide a person to proactively |
41 |
field those issues that land in our court. |
42 |
