Afaik, none. It was a surprise to me too when I got the bill. My lawyer just
billed the Foundation-related expenses to the Gentoo Foundation directly
rather than Gentoo Technologies, Inc.. And it is really no difference either
way, it's mainly an accounting issue. The important point is that donations
are being recorded and set aside, as well as foundation-related expenses. So
rather than having me pay for these expenses and you not knowing about them,
you will now have a tally of the expenses as well as donations and be able
to see where the money is going... and if it has nowhere to go, it goes to
the Foundation's bank account.

I am setting aside all donations received by the Store, so money left over
beyond the legal expenses will go direct to the Foundation. Since it looks
like the Foundation is getting some good free legal help, hopefully this
will be sooner rather than later. Can this lawyer do free trademark
registration? If yes and she is able to take that process over from
peacocklaw.com, that could end up saving around $3000 of future legal bills.

Also, one comment about your mention of the Foundation running a Store...
part of the agreement of me leaving the project is that I get to run the
store for as long as I choose. My understanding of this is that the
Foundation does not have an option of opening up a competing store for as
long as I choose to run the official store.
