emerge --pretend --fetchonly kde
pro zobrazení URL adres, odkud lze ty balíčky stáhnout.
PS: KDE jsem nezkoušel (nemusím to mít), ale emerge gnome bylo na celej
den (Duron 1.1 GHz)...
