Greetings Gentooers!
It has now been some time since the official Gnome 2.0.2 release, and
we are now confident about the quality of "our" Gnome 2.0.2 release.
Confident enough to release it to the public.

This release has been tested on all our major platforms, x86, ppc and
sparc64.

The long awaited news in this release is the menu editing. simply open
applications:// in nautilus (or select the start-here icon on the
default desktop) and there you can edit the menu entries as any other
part of your filesystem.

The main Gnome 2.0 site is here :
http://www.gnome.org/start/2.0/

And theese are the release notes:

Notes for users:
** To get letters like åäö in gnome-terminal:
export KEYMAP="se-latin1"
gnome-terminal

or set it in your ~/.bashrc ~/.bash_profile or equivalent (depends on
your shell)

** If gnome-terminal doesn't launch properly:
make sure you have a correct and valid shell in /etc/passwd for that
user. the shell should be the whole path and shell name. ie "/bin/bash"
and -not- "bash"

and last, but far from least. to update to gnome 2.0.2 simply type:

emerge rsync
emerge -u gnome

whereas from a system without gnome installed, it is simply:
emerge rsync
emerge gnome

Good luck, and enjoy your new Gnome 2.0.2 Desktop!
