Да нет - весь BIOS перешерстил. Можно выключить только WiFi & BT.

Нет, тоже не вариант.

Если мне не изменяет память, где-то во времена 2.6.27 я его видел как
/proc/asound/card0/codec#1. Сейчас на Linux 2.6.30-gentoo-r4 i686
его нет.

В конфиге ядра делал изменения, но звуковую подсистемук практически не
трогал. Получается что-то типа «Ты суслика видишь? — Нет. — И я нет. А
он есть!» (с).


P.S. Винду ставить ради того чтобы увидеть есть модем или нет точно
нехочется...
