My summary then is: |

gentoo-sources: vanilla source tree + gentoo-patches (no automatic compiling etc.). |

gentoo-kernel: take gentoo-sources as source, the kernel .config file from Arch Linux and then compile and install it automatically with portage. |

gentoo-kernel-bin: The precompiled version of gentoo-kernel (except of the initramfs that has to be generated on a per PC basis). |
