You might have copies of email everywhere without realising it. If gmail |

is set up as imap, then it will keep a copy of all your mail. I have |

dovecot set up which keeps a copy of all mine. |

Suck it and see, but if you have /home on one drive, and dovecot cache |

on another, then you shouldn't lose anything. Mail clients should err on |

the side of caution, and if they disagree with the server they should |

assume the worst and sync keeping not sync deleting. |
