Not sure if it is remotely related to your problem, but I've noticed something |

similar happening when I was using a Netgear DG834 router and happened to |

start up a box with a gigabit ethernet card (everything else was 10T-100). |

While the gigabit card was negotiating speeds with the router everything else |

was unable to use the network. That could last for up to a minute or so. |

When I changed router the problem went away. |
