Doesn't work. The WinXP boot console opens alright but |
13 |
that's all. As I've said elsewhere, boot.ini *is* |
14 |
accessible along with ntdetect and ntldr -- they just |
15 |
don't work. An XP boot disk doesn't work. I used PM 8 |
16 |
to look at the drive and the entire 120G drive is |
17 |
flagged w/ error #110. This, I'm told, can be fixed |
18 |
using findpart.exe to list the partitions and then |
19 |
ptedit.exe to fix them. But when I try I'm told these |
20 |
are 32bit apps, not windows, but "new" DOS. But if I |
21 |
boot to a DOS prompt using Win98, surely that's a |
22 |
DOS32 environment?!?! |
23 |
|
24 |
But a clue perhaps. Booting XP in safe mode a bunch of |
25 |
multi(0)disk(0)... lines scroll by ending with |
26 |
|
27 |
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\inf\biosinfo.inf |
