Hi group, |
2 |
|
3 |
I'm trying to connect at the library to their wifi(Open network, no key required), but it's not working so I moved to one of their own machines to send this. |
4 |
|
5 |
Here's the steps I took: |
6 |
|
7 |
cat /proc/net/wireless gives me the interface wlan0 |
8 |
|
9 |
ifconfig wlan0 up |
10 |
|
11 |
iwlist wlan0 scan reveals the network name, the chan. |
12 |
|
13 |
iwconfig wlan0 essid "Network Name" |
14 |
|
15 |
iwconfig wlan0 chan 1 |
16 |
|
17 |
ping somebody.com gets unknown host. |
18 |
|
19 |
dmesg: |
20 |
... |
21 |
wlan0: direct probe to AP 00:1e:58:fb:8c:b1 |
22 |
wlan0: authenticate with AP 00:1e:58:fb:8c:b1 |
23 |
wlan0: authenticated |
24 |
wlan0: associate with AP 00:1e:58:fb:8c:b1 |
25 |
wlan0: RX AssocResp from 00:1e:58:fb:8c:b1 |
26 |
wlan0: associated |
27 |
|
28 |
I know the system is working because I see others here working with their Windows laptops. |
