Subject: Apache2 linix authentication
Date: Thu, 02 Aug 2007 15:53:34 +0200
Hi all

I have an apache2 installation, and I would like to make use of http
basic authentication on a web folder.
The catch is that I do not want to use a htpasswd file, but rather I
want all users to log in using their linux system accounts.

Google has turned up a number of ways, that either do not work anymore
or are deemed a safety hazard, so therefore my question is what the
preferred way of doing this is?

Thank you very much in advance

/ Henrik
