Will the espeakup connector work with Orca as well, or will different use |
2 |
flags be required for that? Also, I thought I read somewhere of an espeak |
3 |
use flag. Is that not accomplishing the same thing, or am I reading the |
4 |
wrong information? |

Hi James, |
16 |
|
17 |
I would first recommend at least the following use flags: |
18 |
|
19 |
accessibility alsa portaudio |
20 |
|
21 |
For software speech, after you have the kernel configured, compiled and |
22 |
installed, while you are in the croot, give this command: |
23 |
|
24 |
emerge espeakup |
25 |
|
26 |
That will install the espeakup connector and speakup. |
27 |
|
28 |
Then, add this line to /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6: |
29 |
|
30 |
speakup_soft |
31 |
|
32 |
Then, give this command: |
33 |
|
34 |
rc-update add espeakup default |
35 |
|
36 |
That will set espeakup to start automatically. |
37 |
|
38 |
Let me know if you have any questions. |
39 |
|
40 |
Thanks, |
41 |
|
