The linux profiles pull in USE=pam. You should be able to safely set |

USE=-pam. I'm in the process of testing and masking this flag because |

pam auth won't work in Gentoo Prefix anyway. You want one auth system, |

the host system or prefix and it doesn't make any sense to *not* use |

the host system. (similar to glibc itself). |
