Currently we are working on getting rid of packages from the overlay |

(and get them back into the official gentoo tree, |

https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=315803). And we are pretty |

close - this morning there were only 162 packages left in the overlay |

($find prefix.svn -name metadata.xml | wc -l). Nothing against user |
| 11 |
contributions, but as the prefix overlay will go away, contributing |
| 12 |
your changes to the gentoo tree directly (via bugs.gentoo.org) make |
| 13 |
more sense. |

Also if your changes are science-related get them included into the |
| 16 |
sci overlay, which is on github already and supports prefix as well. |
