Hi yegle,

as nice as your github advertisement sounds, for the prefix-overlay it
is just not right thing.

Currently we are working on getting rid of packages from the overlay
(and get them back into the official gentoo tree,
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=315803). And we are pretty
close - this morning there were only 162 packages left in the overlay
($find prefix.svn -name metadata.xml | wc -l). Nothing against user
contributions, but as the prefix overlay will go away, contributing
your changes to the gentoo tree directly (via bugs.gentoo.org) make
more sense.

Also if your changes are science-related get them included into the
sci overlay, which is on github already and supports prefix as well.

Cheers,
