Well, no. Not from my part. It's fine when you use it, but I definitely think it's not the right way. What is missing in both bootstrap documents is this: ./ $EPREFIX startscript It will do some magic and produce a script called `startprefix`. Simply move it where you like (i.e. homedir?) and just run it: % ./startprefix e.g.: (pegasus:~) fabian% echo $EDITOR /usr/bin/vim (pegasus:~) fabian% ./startprefix Entering Gentoo Prefix /ufs/fabian/scratch/programs/gentoo fabian has logged on :0 from local. fabian has logged on pts/0 from :0.0. fabian has logged on pts/4 from :0.0. fabian has logged on pts/5 from :0.0. fabian has logged on pts/6 from :0.0.
