Thanks! I'm running on NFS, and changing the PORTAGE_TMPDIR in
bootstrap-prefix.sh to PORTAGE_TMPDIR=/tmp/${ROOT}/var/tmp solved the
problem.

Now the boot strapping finished and I'm able to emerge. Thanks a lot.
