[gentoo-alt] prefix on OS X: some masked package installed

This is a fresh prefix install after the toolchain switched from
gcc-apple to clang. I noticed that dev-lang/perl-5.22.0 was installed,
despite it shows as masked in eix:

$ eix -e perl
[?] dev-lang/perl
     Available versions:  5.20.2(0/5.20) 5.20.2-r1(0/5.20)
[M]5.22.0(0/5.22) {berkdb debug doc gdbm ithreads}
     Installed versions:  5.22.0(22:10:13 07/05/2015)(-berkdb -debug

Several other packages also behaves like this: installed, but show as
masked in eix result (an [M] mark before the installed version number)

* virtual/perl-Digest-MD5
* virtual/perl-ExtUtils-MakeMaker
* virtual/perl-File-Spec
* virtual/perl-Getopt-Long

Is this a bug of eix or something weird happened?
