Dear Gentoo-ers, |
2 |
|
3 |
I am pleased to announce the most recent Gentoo RAP stage3 tarball of |
4 |
armv7a targeting Android-based mobile devices, |
5 |
|
6 |
http://distfiles.gentoo.org/experimental/prefix/rap/rap-stage3-armv7a_hardfp-20141210.tar.bz2 |
7 |
|
8 |
with installation manual at |

11 |
|
12 |
|
13 |
It features the latest Gentoo tree, with bleeding edge gcc-4.9.2, |
14 |
binutils-2.24 and glibc-2.20. Almost all the packages in Gentoo are |
15 |
supported, thanks to the hard work of Prefix and ARM teams, and of |
16 |
course everybody who contributed to Gentoo. |
17 |
|
18 |
|
19 |
Do you want full control of the computers in your pocket? |
20 |
Do you want the Gentoo life-style on your smartphones? |
21 |
Do you miss the GNU userland on your tablets? |
22 |
|
23 |
Gentoo on Android is just for you! |
24 |
|
25 |
The project also aims to provide necessary tools to facilitate kernel, |
26 |
hardware drivers and graphic developments for mobile devices. More |
27 |
information on the project is available at |
28 |
|

|
31 |
|
32 |
Gentoo RAP is a variant of Gentoo Prefix which has an independent glibc. |
33 |
For Android targets, it installs everything under /data/gentoo by |
34 |
default with runtime binaries and scripts tuned to that directory. You |
35 |
have full access to Android stack at /system natively. It is a full |
36 |
userland but not a chroot. |
37 |
|
38 |
Enjoy it and have fun! |
39 |
|
40 |
Cheers, |
41 |
Benda |
