Actually, Nvidia's binary crap *never* worked for me (GeForce Go 6100). |
7 |
All the versions I tried (all from portage, even the hard masked), |
8 |
crashed the whole machine (!) a few seconds after the Xserver |
9 |
came up. Seem their kernel driver is heavily broken. |

The free Xorg driver works very well, but yet no GL available :( |
12 |
Once I've got some spare time, I'll join the cracking project |
13 |
to get an free GL driver. |

Back in xf86 times, their secret-code Riva Xservers already have been |
16 |
unstable crap, but at least they didn't kill the whole machine |
17 |
after a few seconds. |

I strongly suggest not to buy anything from this company, until |
20 |
they open their specs to the free world ! |
