8 In kernel 2.6.20 there'll be a paravirtualizer built in-kernel (KVM
9 http://kvm.sourceforge.net/). It uses a slightly modified QEMU as a manager
10 and requires a decent CPU supporting it (feature called VT - it's highly
11 probable your CPU does it).

13 AFAIK there are patches for <2.6.20 kernels to get it working.

15 You might start off with QEMU+kqemu (works perfectly on my amd64) and then
16 move to 2.6.20 paravirtualizer when it appears, as disk images will be
17 probably compatible.
