I don't see it either, as "www-client/mozilla-firefox": |
16 |
|

BUT esearching for firefox: |
38 |
|
39 |
esearch -Sc firefox |
40 |
[ I] www-client/mozilla-firefox (3.0.11): Firefox Web Browser |
41 |
[MN] www-client/mozilla-firefox-bin (3.5): Firefox Web Browser |
42 |
[ N] www-client/mozilla-launcher (1.59): Script that launches mozilla or |
43 |
firefox |
44 |
[MN] www-plugins/mozilla-weave (0.3.2): Mozilla Labs prototype for |
45 |
online services into Firefox |
46 |
[ N] x11-plugins/noscript (1.9.0.4): Firefox plugin to disable javascript |
47 |
|
48 |
So the 32-bit prebuilt binary-only x86 version is there as |
49 |
www-client/mozilla-firefox-bin, but the from-source version apparently |
50 |
hasn't hit the tree yet (as of when I last synced a few hours ago), |
51 |
masked or unmasked. |
52 |
|
53 |
I'm guessing there's some problems with the build they're trying to fix. |
54 |
Let's see what gentoo bugzilla has to say... |
55 |
|
56 |
Hmm... seems it's in the mozilla overlay, but not yet in the tree, here's |
57 |
the buglist URL (watch the wrap): |
58 |
|
59 |
http://bugs.gentoo.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=ALL+www-client%2Fmozilla- |
60 |
firefox-3.5 |
61 |
|
62 |
Not too many bugs listed, yet. Whatever's keeping it out of the tree |
63 |
probably isn't bugged, as they already know about it and are working on |
64 |
it in the overlay. |
65 |
|
66 |
It'd be nice if they'd put it in the tree, hard-masked if necessary. |
67 |
That's the frustration with overlays. They're fine with betas and rcs |
68 |
and whatever, but once upstream releases, moving it to the tree proper, |
69 |
even if hard masked, would be nice. But some devs/projects prefer to |
70 |
continue with the overlay until all the problems are worked out, which is |
71 |
frustrating for those who want to test it, and are willing to do so even |
72 |
if they have to unmask it, regardless of whatever's keeping it hard |
73 |
masked. |
74 |
|
75 |
Anyway, it's apparently in the mozilla overlay. Either merge layman if |
76 |
necessary and use it to manage your overlays, adding the mozilla overlay |
77 |
there, or handle the overlay (which requires subversion) manually, or |
78 |
wait... I guess. |
