4 The point is there isn't couple of kernel patches that makes it ideal
5 for desktops or servers. It helps in the tasks you usually use in
6 desktop or server environments. Most of those kernel patches makes your
7 system more responsive but it doesn't do any miracles. I recommend for
8 both use server/desktop gentoo-sources. If you want a kernel for a real
9 server probably you want hardened-sources. For desktop(including audio
10 servers in you case) gentoo-sources or ck-sources.
11 Beware that most of the patches available to tune your scheduler aren't
12 for general use so you can expect a better responsiveness when you run
13 xorg+firefox+xterm but you can get worst when you run apache, php, sql.
