Linux software RAID is great - you can create an array, resize it, |

reshape it, add/remove drives, run a check - all while it is online I |

Then you put lvm2 on top of the RAID to chop it into partitions. |

Right now I have 6 hard drives: |

The two RAID-5 arrays are PVs in LVM2, and everything but root is under |

LVM2. I think the only things left on my 1GB root are /bin, /sbin, |

My drives aren't all the same size so I'm still not 100% allocated - I |

could add more mirrored arrays to use some of the remaining space but I |

Works great - the only thing I would probably change is making /usr its |

own partition so that it doesn't need to be symlinked/bind-mounted. |

Some software doesn't like /usr as a symlink, although a bind-mount |
