6 That's because one may still want to use a compiled kernel after the removal
7 of the kernel sources.

9 The second thing is that sys-kernel/gentoo-sources does only refer to the
10 kernel sources and not to your self-made kernel. If the kernel were
11 made/compiled by portage like any other program, portage would remove it. But
12 unless this does not happen (and by the way is not possible yet), why should
13 portage clean up the things it has not caused?
