Good spot Robert; I had similar problems with /var/lib/mysql: after |

copying files from a working distribution the perms changed from |

mysql to root (too easy to copy files with konqueror!). |

But I made doubly sure here - unmerged ntop, deleted /var/lib/ntop |

then remerged. The files are all owned by nobody:nobody and on |

first run ntop creates files not emerged. Now, although the ntop |

service now runs, my browser cannot connect to localhost:3000. |
