14 Hmm, well that's never been a problem before 2.6.21, and I've tried leaving the acpi stuff in and got the same error. And actually mine won't boot with acpi; I have to have acpi=off and noapic set in grub. IIRC, it's because I have an Nforce 5 chipset, but it's been almost a year since I had to deal with that so I could be wrong about that being the reason.
